Being Sick Sucks
I’ve been sick for a week straight. Not complaining or anything… wait. Yes I am. I’m complaining.
About a week and a half ago we began hearing rumors of a killer illness. Some sort of mutant virus concocted by an evil scientest in his secret volcano lair. This bad-boy has it all. Fever. Cough. Aches. Pains. Oozing awfulness.
We thought we dodged that bullet. My daughter’s summer vacation started this last Tuesday – which meant that we wouldn’t be exposed to quite so many illnesses (any parent knows that kids, especially those in the lower grades, tend to bring home eleventy-billion colds every year). But, no luck. Looks like we managed to pick it up just in the nick of time.
So, here I am. A week later and still not in a functional state for recording audio (or video). My voice is almost completely shot. I can’t go 5 minutes without what those in the medical world call “a productive cough”.
I thought I might be able to record a short spot today…
The Universe disagrees.
Tried to record something today. Really did. Failed. Miserably.
If I had to guess, I’d say I’ve got a few days before I’ll be in any shape to record. Which is frustrating, as I’ve got some really fun stuff I want to talk about (new lab project updates, a review of the System76 Wild Dog, all sorts of good stuff). But, alas, it is what it is.
Just wanted to let all of you know that I haven’t gone anywhere – and I’ll be back on your screens soon. Hopefully in the next few days.
