RadicalComic Post-Beta 1 Plans

February 1st, 2009

radicalcomicfullWith the first beta of RadicalComic out, I wanted to give everyone some insight on what I’m working on and where this comic book reader/organizer is heading.

Some of the key items I am working on between now and the final 1.0 release:

  • Sony PRS-505, Kindle and iRex support (drag and drop comics to be read on these devices).
  • The option to let RadicalComic manage the comic files for you.
  • PDF support.
  • Full-screen reading mode.
  • Full 64bit support.
  • Package files and repositories for as many Linux distros as humanly possible.
  • Bug fixes and optimizations.

To give you some sense of the time-line I am looking at: There will be another beta release, with a few of these items included, this week.

You can grab the latest packages over at the RadicalComic page.

And a huge thanks to those who have already shown their support for this project.

Hey Bryan. So far, so good. I did notice that AWN does not produce your icon while the program is running. Ubuntu 8.10 32bit . Easy enough to fix, but I thought you should know.

Thanks for the note! I’ll take a look!
