Yesterday, I offered a, one day only, Set Your Own Price sale.
But, let’s step it up a notch, shall we?
From now, throughout the weekend, any sales made on any Radical Breeze software will be donated to an open source project.
Plus: you can still set your own price.
Here’s how it works:
Just head over to the Radical Breeze online store, click the application you wish to purchase… and set any price that you think is fair. Nice and easy.
Then, on Monday morning, we will vote for which open source project the entire weekends sales will be donated to.
Projects
There are many, many great open source projects we could donate this to… here’s a few that I think definitely deserve it:
GetDeb.Net - These guys package up a ton of software for Ubuntu and make it easily available.
Ardour - An absolutely amazing audio workstation package for Linux.
Linux Mint - One extremely cool (and great looking) Linux distro.
There are many, many others… so if you’ve got a particular project that you think could use the funds, let me know and I’ll include it on the list we vote on for Monday!
Applications available:
RadicalCodex - The glorious eBook and Comic Book reader/organizer.
Radical Comic Designer - Which lets you create your own webcomics and comic books crazy easily.
DiscBlaze - The CD/DVD burner with some mighty cool features.
If you haven’t tried any of these applications yet, head on over to the Radical Breeze home page, pick the application you want to try and the type of computer you use (Windows, Linux, MacOS X or Windows Mobile) and give it a spin.

I have never used Ardour properly but I think it would be missed the most… and it is basically a one man project so they get my vote

Bryan, this idea is absolutely golden. Good job!
What made you want to donate your sales?

BobCFC: Ardour is absolutely fantastic. Definitely deserving of some financial assistance.
Michael: That’s really been one of the ideas from the beginning. That properly managed commercial software like this could directly financially benefit open source projects. I’m very curious how it turns out over the next 3 days. I would LOVE to be able to present Ardour, Linux Mint or some other deserving project with a nice big check.

Ardour definitely gets my vote here. I could be maniacal and suggest Comix, but Ardour is a genuine effort from one guy to make a living writing a FOSS audio editor. He really needs the money…
So yeah, Ardour.

It makes me feel bad about myself, but I payed just $4 for Radical Comic Designer. I donate to the show though, and I earn very little money. Hope it gives a small bit of joy though.

Nice work Bryan.
None of your apps interest me, sorry, but I am going to buy anyway just to help support one of these projects.
Thanks for the efforts Bryan.

Or you could donate the money to http://LinuxFund.org, which would then manage the proper distribution, and your donation would be tax deductible.
Disclaimer: I’ve just recently joined the board.

Randal: Not a bad idea. I’ll make sure Linux Fund is one of the options to be voted on.
