Hey everyone, I’m in the planning phase right now for a few projects and I would love to get some of your opinions.
I’m going to throw out a number of ideas. If any of these sound great (or the opposite of great) just drop a line in the comments here.
Comic Hosting
This would be a web site that I host here specifically for hosting web comics and the like. Essentially it would be a free blog service just for comics.
And then, you could, from within Radical Comic Designer, layout a new comic strip and do a “Publish to…” to send it to this comic host.
It would, of course, be a free service.
More Radical Comic Designer Mobile Platforms
So we’ve got Radical Comic Designer for Windows Mobile. And it’s cool.
But what about other platforms? What about Android? Maemo? S60?
As you all probably know… I love Nokia Internet Tablets (Maemo). So I’m definitely feeling myself lean that direction.
Is this something that any of you would like to use? Or am I alone in thinking that having the ability to add speech bubbles to pictures on our mobile devices is a must?
I’ve got a number of features here that I’ve been working on for a while now, but what do you want to see?
Are you looking for support for a particular eBook format? More support for portable devices? Or something I haven’t even thought of?
Big or small, if there is something that would make reading eBooks (or eComics) a better experience for you… I would love to know about it.
DiscBlaze… where from here?
DiscBlaze is great. When it comes to burning CD’s and DVD’s on a Mac… DiscBlaze is just plain rad. Looks great, awesome features. And I plan to continue supporting it for quite some time.
My initial instinct is “bring it to Linux!”. But, really, the Brasero team have created a fantastic application to handle the majority of what DiscBlaze does. So that just doesn’t make sense to me.
If you’ve got thoughts on this, I’m all ears. Adding features. Porting to new platforms. I’m open to just about anything that would be useful to people.
And, with that, it is time for me to get back to work!

Comic hosting would be really cool. You could basically start a community of people using your software, which is the best possible thing to do. Imagine, a place where new creative comics could be posted, all in one place. Great idea.

RadicalCodex:
.chm support on all three platforms
That’s pretty much it. RadicalCodex is the only reader I use for comic books, but I hate having to install a separate application to read the few books I have in .chm format. That would pretty much make RadicalCodex my literary program of choice.
That and a universal portable install. Guess I’m a demanding user, huh?

As said earlier, please, please, please, support for the TI-89 ebook reader. Or better yet, make it.

If I would have had a TI-89 ebook reader in high school, I would have played a lot less tetris. Well, maybe.

I go to a lot of internet forums, and one thing that I would find quite useful would be an internet service that worked in kind of the same way as your comic creator software, only that it would just be a single window/square/(whatever it’s called) instead of a whole strip. For example, let’s say I read an extremely retarded post somewhere, and I can’t find a better way to express myself than to post a facepalm with my own custom text. Then I could just go to http://www.bryanssupercoolcomiccreator.com, pick an image from a gallery or upload my own, add a speech bubble and some text, and then get my own custom facepalm. Or even better, if I already knew what I wanted, I could just go to for example http://www.bryanssupercoolcomiccreator.com/image.php?image=facepalm1&bubbleposition=topright&text=That+was+so+stupid and get my image right away!
