illumiconThis information is available (mostly) in a few different places, but I’ve been getting some questions so I thought I’d take a moment to let everyone know what the development roadmap for Illumination Software Creator looks like for the rest of the year.

2.0 – Entirely focused on adding Flash/Flex/AIR build support.  There will also be a few additions to Illumination itself to make development easier.  But the focus really is adding the new Flash/Flex support.  This version will also be the first to ship for MacOS X (in addition to Linux and Windows).

2.1 – Graphics is the focus.  New drawing blocks, and functionality for working with graphics.

2.2 – User Interface Controls.  Illumination has a base set right now, but that will be expanding to include a variety of types of controls.

2.3 – Project editing enhancements.  This includes things like the ability to build a block that contains other blocks and distributing those “mega blocks” (that’s our code name for them) for use in other projects.

2.4 – User request roundup and fixes.  We’ll do our best to squeeze in requests as we can, but we’re setting aside version 2.4 just for taking care of the top requests for new functionality.

2.5 – Database functionality.

And that’s the rest of the year!  Along the way we’ll be adding new features here and there and fixing bugs as they crop up, but that gives you an idea of what we’re looking at right now.

I should point out that all of these updates will be free for all users who purchase Illumination now.

With AIR it seems you’re getting indirect Android support, http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/03/adobe-air-getting-native-android-app-compilation/

uhh… maybe you ment “we’re setting aside version 2.4″ not 2.3

Anyway, it’s cool to have all the information in one place.
