Greater Lunduke License (aka “Bill & Ted License”) hits 1.0

This is just a quite note that the Greater Lunduke License (aka "The GLL" aka "The Bill & Ted License") has been declared "1.0".

Bill-and-TedNot familiar with this license?  You should be.  Because it is awesome.

From the licenses preamble:

The "Greater Lunduke License" is inspired, in part, by the wisdom of the Two Great Ones, Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted "Theodore" Logan.  Namely that we should all "be excellent to each other", that being "bogus" is "most non-triumphant" and that all dudes should "party on".

There have been no modifications since the last release of the license (0.3).  The license is just so good, it was time for "1.0".

So good, in fact, that everything I create and make available for download from this side (including video games, apps, comics, books and videos) are using it.

The latest revision of the license can always be found here.

Everything here is free.

All of the software, video games and comics on this website are now available for free.

Illumination Software Creator, Linux Tycoon, Road Sign Hank and the Aliens... the whole shebang.  Free.

This isn't an experiment in funding Open Source Software.  This is a permanent change (at least as permanent as anything in this crazy, mixed up world) to the way I am distributing my software -- brought about, in part, by significant changes in my life.

I will be accepting donations that will be used to fund continued development, design and support -- including funding others to work on them.  There's even a handy-dandy set of sliders that allow you to set how much you want to donate towards various types of projects (including support for the BBS).  Those donations are entirely voluntary.  There is no catch.

Links are on the individual project pages.  And on the side of this page.  Or you can just click here.

All are entirely viable options.

The Greater Lunduke License version 0.3

This is a (very) mintor update to the Greater Lunduke License (aka "The GLL"... aka "The Bill & Ted License").

More importantly, today everything you see here is licensed under the GLL version 0.3.  This includes items that are also licensed under the GPL -- those items are now dual-licensed.

Why are they dual licensed?  Because I feel that the GLL provides some direct (and extremely important) benefits to the consumer that the GPL simply does not.
